Ramsbottom Pride has been hailed a success for its second year running.
The celebration took place on Saturday, September 21 with the organiser saying it was a “huge success”.
Stalls were set up at the civic hall and around the town which offered everything from festival makeup to local artwork and food vans serving up a wide range of options.
The day was compered by drag queen Dixi Tucker.
Entertainment stole the show with incredible performances from acts like Drum Machine, Regener8, Tommy Price, Tuneless Choir, Lisa Narracci, and Poppy Holiday who kept the crowd buzzing all day.
The town centre was adorned with pride flags outside shops and businesses including bar Vino and Vibes were involved with making cocktails for Pride goers and businesses, including Pink Rhino and Melba Swintex made generous donations to the self-funded event.
This year also saw the enthusiastic participation of the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and their commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and fostering positive relationships.
Officers from GMP actively participated in the day’s activities, engaging with attendees, answering questions, and showing solidarity with the values of diversity and equality.
Organiser Daniel Armstrong said: “The town was transformed into a vibrant display of colour and community spirit with locals and visitors enjoying the fantastic atmosphere.
“The Ramsbottom Pride team extends heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, artists, stallholders, and local businesses for their generous support, raffle gifts, and sponsorships.
“Ramsbottom truly did us proud!”
Next year’s pride event is already set for Saturday, September 20.
