Carers in Bolton are invited to meet for coffee, snacks and creative activities in the Octagon Theatre.

The Octagon Theatre and Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWIFC) will host two free coffee mornings for carers on October 15 and November 19 at the Octagon Theatre from 10.30am to 12pm.

The mornings are intended as a safe space for carers to connect and chat while enjoying light refreshments.

This is one of many community events hosted by the Octagon Theatre including, most recently, Talkin’ Tables which brings people together for friendly conversation.

The theatre is the latest host venue for the Talkin' Tables initiative, which provides a friendly area where people can meet and connect with others in their community.

The scheme takes place every Friday morning between 11am and noon a table with a host is set aside to welcome anyone wishing to attend.

It was first launched in Chorley in 2021 and now has an impressive 80 host venues across the country welcoming local people from their community every week.

The Octagon also stages events for young people including helping them to make a difference in their own community.

Bolton Wanderers in the Community also host a number of schemes for people of all ages in the community to improve health and wellbeing for all.

It also holds fundraising events to further its work and in support of other charities.

Recently it staged a community abseil from the Toughsheet Stadium.
