A language class has returned to Bolton after 25 years away.
The Ukrainian Saturday School, based at the Ukrainian Centre on Castle Street, recommenced on Saturday, September 21.
Before that session, it had not run in the town since 1999, due to a generation gap of Ukrainians in the town.
However, due to the arrival of displaced nationals following the Russian invasion in 2022, a new age group can be taught the language.
The classes teach children how to read, write and speak Ukrainian.

Yaroslaw Tymchyshyn, Bolton AUGB branch chair said: "On Saturday, September 21, the Ukrainian Saturday School recommenced after a 25-year break.
"The Bolton Branch of AUGB, working together with teachers from Ukraine, began teaching 19 children on reading, writing, and speaking the Ukrainian language. The school also aims to bond children from all over Ukraine.
"The school had been dormant since 1999 due to a lack of children, a generation gap. With the arrival of displaced Ukrainians, the Bolton Branch of AUGB saw this as an opportunity to restart the school.
"The teachers, children, and AUGB Bolton are grateful to the Headteacher, Mrs Worthington, governors and staff of the Bolton Parish Church Primary School, in allowing the Ukrainian Saturday School the use of the premises."
