A 28-year-old chef-turned-director won Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Based at Regent Park Golf Centre in Lostock, Jacob Greenhalgh identified a gap in the golf events market and established his firm - Green Golf Events -to fill it, demonstrating exceptional foresight and business acumen.
Under his leadership, the business has doubled its event offerings in the past year, expanding both reach and capacity.
He has introduced new event formats and technologies to enhance the player experience, showing his commitment to innovation in a traditional sport.
He said: "It's taken me a number of years to get to this stage, but yeah I'm really happy with this award."
Jacob started his entrepreneurial journey by booking a couple of events for a collection of golfers he knew.
His passion for progress is evident in his ambitious plans for GGE.
He aims to transform the company from a local tour to a national tour within the next three- to-five years, a goal that demonstrates his strategic thinking and long-term vision.
This expansion plan includes not only geographical growth but also the introduction of new services such as a tiered tournament structure and a professional division, highlighting Jacob’s commitment to continuously evolving and improving his business offering.
He has now grown this into an established golf tour across multiple counties, offering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.
The award was sponsored by Leisure Guard Security.
