I’m sure they’re out there somewhere, but I reckon you’d be hard-pressed to find folk both young and old who don’t appreciate a dinosaur or two.

They’re so other-worldly, mythical and just the right amount of terrifying.

Kids tend to grow up on a diet of dinosaur tales and certainly, for my generation, it was The Land Before Time (still crying).

When I saw Jurassic World: The Exhibition had roared into a Trafford Centre car park, I was as keen to go along as my two boys, age two and six.

It’s a family-friendly exhibition of massive proportions based on one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinema history.

Walking through the iconic Jurassic World gates, you are immersed in a time when dinosaurs ruled the land.

I don’t want to give too much away for future visitors but here you can encounter a life-sized Brachiosaurus and pet baby dinosaurs, including Bumpy from the Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

Having been to other dinosaur exhibitions, this really is next level and probably the most interactive family experience I’ve been to.

It’s easy to see why Jurassic World: The Exhibition is award-winning and has been wowing visitors in cities around the world including Sydney, Toronto, Chicago, Paris, Shanghai, and Berlin.

The actors playing the rangers are fantastic and approach families to share facts, take photos and answer questions like they’re real experts working in a dinosaur park.

But, of course, with all this quality comes a cost and for a family of four on a Saturday afternoon tickets cost £37 each for an adult and £31 for three to 15-year-olds with younger ones going free.

I was slightly concerned about my youngest being scared but he was absolutely fine, more mesmerised and intrigued. Guidance on the website says ‘Kids come out of the exhibition with all kinds of reactions. Usually laughing, amazed, or running out playfully’.

There is currently a back-to-school offer running, where visitors can save £5 a ticket on performances from Wednesday to Friday.

This is the final week, so be sure to take advantage before this Friday, September 27.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition will be at the Trafford Centre’s Car Park 7 until November 3.
