Firefighters rescued a person from a car which overturned following a crash on Moss Bank Way yesterday, Friday.

The crash, which happened just before 5pm near the junction with Drummond Street, involved two vehicles.

Photos from the incident show a car left on its side.

Shaun Hill, who owns SJH Powerwashing Services, was cleaning a nearby property when he heard the crash.

Speaking to The Bolton News, Shaun said: “I was washing the property across the road, on the main road, and I just heard a bang – as I turned around, a car was upside down outside Vets4Pets.”

Shaun said the incident left him feeling shocked – and that the area is notorious for crashes.

He added: “It’s got a bad reputation – one guy nicknamed it the ‘junction of death’, but I’ve never seen a fatality there.

“Death junction, they call it.”

According to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s "Vision Zero Strategy", the city region is committed to try to eliminate ‘all road fatalities and life-changing injuries’ by 2040.
