Visitors to Heaton Fold Garden Centre can enjoy delights from the artisan market as it returns this weekend.

Along with live entertainment, there will be "unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for all", including handmade jewellery and clothing, homemade relishes and chutneys, delicious baking, and so much more.

Hot and cold food and drink will also be on offer at the event, which will take place from 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

The remaining market dates of the year at the site, situated on Overdale Drive, off Chorley New Road, are October 27, November 24 and December 15.

At last month’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival, Heaton Fold market traders were some of the worst affected by the damage caused by Storm Lilian, so visitors are urged to come along and show their support for the small businesses.

Executive cabinet member for environmental services at the council, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said: “There’s always a fantastic array of stalls on offer at Heaton Fold Artisan Market and the autumn and winter markets are a great opportunity to pick up some festive gifts.

“These traders sadly suffered during Storm Lilian so it’s more important than ever that local people show their support for small local business.”

Free parking is available at the site.
