A free event will be held at the University of Bolton to help check people’s health needs.
The health mela will take place in October and offer free health assessments such as height, weight and Body Mass Index, blood pressure check-ups and nutrition requirements.
It will take place in the Social Learning Zone in Chancellor’s Mall, University Way, and was organised by the University of Bolton, Greater Manchester with NHS Bolton Foundation Trust.
Trust deputy medical director and consultant physician Dr Harni Bharaj said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to the University of Bolton, Greater Manchester and opening up the conversation about wellness.
“It’s so important that people feel empowered to take control of their health and confident enough to reach out for support if they are struggling.
“We will have a wide range of health professionals available to speak to on the day who are experts in their field and can provide the information people need to make positive changes in their life.”

The organisers will aim to provide people with access to health screenings and information that might otherwise be costly or inaccessible.
University vice president professor George E Holmes said: “This health mela will provide a wonderful opportunity for different local communities to engage with colleagues from our new £40M medical school in the grounds of the Royal Bolton Hospital.”
The Bolton Health Mela 2024 will take place on Saturday, October 5 from 10am to 3pm.
Members of the public can register by going to eshop.bolton.ac.uk and searching for the Health Mela event.
