A man suspected of murdering his wife in Bury died after being struck by a lorry, a coach and a car on the M65.
Molifi Elvis Mosia, 40, died on Friday, September 6 after the horrific incident on the M65 in Blackburn at around 9pm, the same night his wife Barbara Nomakhosi was found dead at an address on Walnut Avenue in Bury at around 10.30pm.
It was later established by police that she had died after suffering serious injuries earlier that evening.
Police coroner’s officer Tracey Bunn told Rochdale Coroners' Court this morning, Thursday, that Mr Mosia was born in South Africa, but lived on Broughton Lane in Salford at the time of his death, worked as a driver and was married to Barbara, 35.
On the night of September 6, he parked his car on the westbound carriageway of the M65 just before junction 6 for Blackburn and made his way over to the eastbound carriageway.
He then entered a live lane of traffic and died after being struck by a lorry, a coach and a car, the court heard.
He suffered body trauma, and a provisional cause of death was recorded as blunt force trauma.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and was identified via his fingerprints.
Area coroner Catherine McKenna set a review date for October 31. No date has been decided for the full inquest.
An inquest into Barbara's death is set to be opened too.
Following her death, Greater Manchester Police identified Mr Mosia as the suspect involved in Barbara's death and officers say no one else is being sought in connection with the investigation.
A spokesperson for her family said: “Barbara was a caring and hardworking person.
"She was so thoughtful and always checking up on her family and friends.
"Barbara loved her family and enjoyed working as a carer. We loved Barbara so much and life will not be the same without her."
