Repeated racist attacks on an Asian mother and son's home have left them pleading for alternative accommodation.

Reheesa Bahari, 28, and her eight-year-old son, Kaleem, have been on the end of two incidents where thugs have thrown eggs at their rented house in Johnson Fold while shouting racial slurs.

On September 11, the most recent incident, a gang spray painted "EDL" across their front door.

Ms Bahari is too frightened for her son’s safety to let him play outside and has even had to take him out of his previous school, Johnson Fold Primary, after he was subjected to racial bullying.

“When I moved here I was getting taxi drivers asking me if it was a safe place to live, as some of them don’t go there as sometimes bricks get thrown at them,” Ms Bahari said.

“It’s like we’re being watched, I don’t who it is [doing it], or when it will happen again.

“I don’t know what these people’s intentions are or how malicious this will get as it’s getting worse.”

Ms Bahari has been forced to tape up her letterbox and fit a Ring door camera in the wake of the recent attacks.

Ms Bahari was left with clumps of hair missing, cuts, and bruises but no prosecution came, she believes the incident could be linked to the recent troubles.

She added: “Bolton at Home are not treating it seriously enough.

“If it was a partner [being this abusive] I’d have people at my door saying it’s not safe for my child to be living here.

The mother-of-one, who works as a waitress, doesn’t feel safe in her current house but says her only alternative is being homeless.

Greater Manchester Police said a harassment investigation is ongoing.

Gemma Parlby, group director of customer and communities at Bolton at Home, said: “We are aware of this situation and are working closely with the police to take appropriate action.

"We are in contact with our tenant to keep them updated on the process. We cannot comment further at this time."
