A “shocking” Horwich road is set for resurfacing work after “over a year”, a local councillor has said.
Austin’s Lane will be resurfaced but a date “has not been set yet”.
Cllr Ryan Bamforth, who represents Horwich North, said: “It is in absolute disarray.
“Austin's Lane has deteriorated state to the point of being a hazard, with craters and loose surface on the floor.
“We’ve been trying to get resurfacing works for it underway for over a year.
“I was pushing for this before my election in 2023.”
Cllr Bamforth said Bolton Council and National Highways have confirmed today that resurfacing works will take place.
He said: “National Highways have managed to reduce the price [of the road works] by £10,000, which is saving the taxpayers a huge amount of money.
“It will not be the normal black tarmac or asphalt, but a beige safety path.
“And it is going to get widened with accurate signs.”
