A road in Bolton was closed after a car overturned as it was crashed into a parked car. 

The incident took place on Longsight in Harwood at around 2pm today, September 13. 

A car being driven by a 29-year-old woman crashed into another car which was parked on the street, causing it to flip onto its roof. 

Police shut the road off, before firefighters cut her free before she was taken to hospital by ambulance. 

Her injuries are believed to be minor.

Crew Manager Peter Kerry of Bolton North said: "At around 2pm we were called to a road traffic collision on Longsight in Harwood. 

"One car crashed into a parked car. Firefighters were on scene for around an hour. The car was on its roof so we cut the occupant free out of one of the car doors, which enabled NWAS to assess her. 

"The woman, who was 29, was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are believed to be minor. 

"A number of police vehicles were on scene and the road was closed for the duration of the incident." 

Firefighters also removed the car from the carriageway and made it safe. 

One fire engine each from Bolton North and Bolton Central stations attended. 

A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Longsight, Bolton at 2.05pm today. 

"Minor injuries were suffered by one female, who was taken to hospital."
