A new Italian-American restaurant and music venue has opened in Spinningfields - with a star-studded party.

Louis, created by the same group behind Fenix and Tattu, celebrated its launch in Manchester on Thursday, September 12.

It aims to replicate the homey feel of classic New York restaurants with its culinary offerings and live music.

The launch event was a glamorous affair, attended by actors, musicians, sportspeople, and industry leaders.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of Laurent Perrier Heritage Champagne and explored the venue, which is designed to transport diners back to mid-20th century New York with its deep velvet interiors.

Among the first to arrive were Manchester City players İlkay Gündoğan, Bernardo Silva, and Rùben Dias, who enjoyed the Italian-American canapés on offer.

The evening also saw Molly Moorish-Gallagher, daughter of Liam Gallagher, make her first public appearance since the announcement of Oasis's 2025 tour.

She partied alongside her father's favourite Manchester City footballers.

Singer-songwriter Ella Eyre performed an intimate set as the night drew on.

The guests toasted with shots of Remy Martin Louis XIII as DJs played high-energy beats.

The attendees, including Coleen Rooney, Emma Neville, and Stacey Giggs, sipped on classic American cocktails like Manhattans, PB&J Old Fashioneds, and Dirty Martinis created by the Louis bar team.

Reality TV stars Grace Jackson, Leah Taylor, and the Ward sisters were also spotted enjoying the night.

The city's fashion industry was represented by Hyrum Cook, CEO of Adanola, and Ross Worswick, owner of Couture Club, who attended with his wife Danielle Fogarty.

The Louis team served a selection of canapés, including beef carpaccio, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti, followed by New York strip steak and Louis Wagyu beef burgers.

The evening concluded with servings of baked New York cheesecake.

A spokesperson for Louis said: "This evening saw actors and musicians, sportspeople, and industry leaders gather to celebrate the hotly-anticipated launch of Louis, the Italian-American restaurant and late-night music venue in Manchester’s Spinningfields.

"Louis plays ode to the classic New York restaurants which are often portrayed on the silver screen as a home from home, featuring excellent cooking and perfectly mixed cocktails, whilst live performances provide the soundtrack to the evening."

Louis will be a dinner-only venue and will open five nights a week, with a reservation only policy.

Akin to the era that has inspired much of Louis, the restaurant will encourage a no-photos environment, with an emphasis on lived-experience over content creation. The privacy and enjoyment of their guests, and curating an intimate atmosphere, will be their primary focus.
