The next generation of health students in Bolton will have access to the latest cutting-edge technology as Bolton College showcased the future of healthcare training.
The college unveiled its ground-breaking new suite - Anatomage Suite - as part of the Innovation in Health Education Launch it hosted.
The event was designed to highlight the future of health education in the region and showcased Bolton College’s leadership of the health initiative for the Greater Manchester Colleges Group.
Bolton College assistant principal of curriculum and stakeholder engagement Catherine Langstreth said: “This launch marks a major step forward in our efforts to revolutionise health education.
“By leading the health initiative for the Greater Manchester Colleges Group, we are creating powerful collaborations and innovative solutions that will continue to evolve and benefit our students and the broader community.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the speakers and attendees who made this event such a success. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to enhance the education and training we provide.”
The health initiative across Greater Manchester was made possible by a £1.5M investment from the Local Skills Improvement Fund.
At the launch event Bolton College, part of the University of Bolton Group, unveiled its new Anatomage Suite which includes a a life-size, virtual, touch-screen dissection table.
The students will have exclusive use of this table and the other technology in the suite from September onwards, giving them hands on experience with anatomy.
The event also saw the introduction of a new digital assessment tool, developed in collaboration with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
The college also bolstered its standing in the health filed with the launched its new anatomy and physiology microcredential courses.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust director of strategy, digital and transformation said: “Partnering with Bolton College and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust on the GM Digital Skills for Health Training Needs Analysis has been an incredible journey.
“This innovative digital assessment tool empowers our health and care staff by providing a clear understanding of their digital competencies, allowing us to efficiently identify and address skills gaps.
“By tailoring the assessment to specific digital skills relevant to the NHS, we can ensure that our training programmes are targeted and effective.
“This tool not only boosts efficiency but also supports our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.”
