There is still time to surrender zombie knives and machetes in Bolton before the law changes at the end of the month.
On September 24, it will be illegal to own the types of blades, which have a plain cutting edge, a sharp pointed end and are over eight inches long.
They also have more than one of the following: a serrated cutting edge over two inches long, more than one hole in the blade, spikes or more than two sharp points in the blade.
Knives can be handed over before the law changes at Bolton Police Station on Scholey Street.
A compensation scheme is also being offered. To find out if you are eligible, click here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/compensation-scheme-for-zombie-knives-and-machetes
Participants will need to download and complete a form which is available at the link above and bring it to the station, alongside photo identification.
The knife or machete must be safe - police advise people to wrap the item in a sealed bag or box. It must stay covered at all times.
At the police station do not take the item out until asked to do so by a police officer or a member of police staff.
Knives can also be donated anonymously by putting them in surrender bins which are available across the country.
