Disturbances around Victoria Square and Bradshawgate gripped the town centre on Sunday, August 4, as riot police kept groups of demonstrators and counter demonstrators apart.
It came as nationwide, far right rioters took to the streets following a mass stabbing in Southport which saw three children killed.
Last week, a tree surgeon was sentenced to more than two years imprisonment for his role in the disorder, after launching debris towards officers at the demonstration.
Other men and even teenage boys have also been sentenced for their roles in the disorder.
Subsequently, around 1,700 prisoners have been freed from jail early nationwide in a bid to cut overcrowding.
Downing Street said the policy had to be brought in to avoid “unchecked criminality” where the police and courts are unable to lock anyone up because there were no places available.
The Government has said the early release scheme will not apply to those convicted of sex offences, terrorism, domestic abuse or some violent offences.
Last month it emerged rioters were among those who could end up spending less time behind bars as the Government confirmed those involved in recent unrest would not be excluded from the early release plans.
