If the weather forecast is fine the glorious panoramic views await those who climb the 189 steps to the tower.
The church, a Grade 2* listed building, built of Longridge stone, is widely recognised as one of the finest examples of the Victorian Gothic style of architecture.
The tower at 55 metres high (180 feet) is the tallest of any parish church in Lancashire and commands extensive views of the moorland which gives Bolton its old name of ‘Bolton-le-Moors’.
