Today it is the centre of a new housing development aimed at allowing more people to live in Bolton town centre.
But when this photo was taken in April 1963, Moor Lane was one of the town’s main car parks and also home to the town centre bus station.
You can see the double deckers at their various ‘stands’ in the background and in the top right of the photo, you can see the ticket office.
It’s interesting to note the skyline with a number of mill chimneys clearly visible.
Given where the two lorries are parked at the bottom of the photo it would be interesting to see how the cars they have blocked in would get out of the car park.
