Gentlemen start your engines - or at least get pedalling!
In the late 1980s Bolton held its own version of the historic Le Mans 24-hour race. But instead of high-powered supercars, the competitors were in home-made pedal cars.
Moss Bank Park was home to the race which saw teams with up to six drivers seeing who could complete the most laps of the circuit in a 24-hour period.
The event attracted teams from all over the country - and in 1987 it even saw two teams from the French town which gave the race its name competing.
To give you an idea of the effort required, in 1987 the team from Longsight Methodist Youth Fellowship set a course record by clocking up 830 laps - the equivalent of 415 miles - in the 24 hour period.
There was also a ladies' race and many local charities benefitted with the teams attracting large amounts of sponsorship.
