A former florists on the outskirts of Bolton is set to become a coffee shop and meeting room.
Plans have been submitted to convert the former Diddybox florists premises at the crossroads of Belmont Road, Bar Lane and Broad O’Th’ Lane in Astley Bridge.
The premises are currently vacant. The application, from Three Planks Coffee Co Ltd states "we would like to open a café and coffee shop with internal seating".
The papers say the coffee shop would have indoor seating for up to 25.
The application added: “We will have a kitchen for cooking food and preparing snacks, we have a toilet upstairs and a meeting room.
“We would propose seating for up to 25 and have huge glass frontage at the shop and lots of big windows in each room.
“The building has been used as a shop for many years previous.”
There are double yellow lines on the immediate front and side roadway of the premises but the application addresses parking.
It said: “There is on street parking on the surrounding streets, bus stops on the main road and lots of private dwellings within walking distance who will be our target customers.”
Three Planks Coffee Co said all current staff have been trained to level 3 food hygiene and any future staff will be trained appropriately.
The application added: “We have more than five years experience in running coffee shops and we will transfer our current procedures and schedules to the new coffee shop.”
Neighbours on Belmont Road, Bar Lane and Wilton Road will be consulted on the requested change of use for the premises.
The plans will be decided on by planner at Bolton Council in the coming weeks.
