A driver was fined after police say he was caught after having stopped at a pedestrian crossing.

Officers had been out on patrol on in the Halliwell area on the evening of Wednesday, September 4 when they came across the Seat at a pedestrian crossing.

They say that this was on a controlled area.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “XQ14 in Bolton this evening (Wednesday) came across this vehicle stopped on the controlled area of a pedestrian crossing.

“Zig zags are there so pedestrians waiting or crossing have full view of the road.

“This is an endorsement offence picking up three points and £100 fine.”

An image supplied by police at the scene appears to show a car stopped right at the crossing.

This comes amid long-running concerns about anti-social driving on the roads in Bolton and further afield across Greater Manchester in recent months.

This has included cases of car theft, dangerous driving, driving without licences and driving without insurance.
