Police are asking for the public’s help after a crash on a major Bolton road.

Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton division is appealing for information following a crash late in the evening on Blackburn Road on Monday, August 26.

According to the force, a black BMW crashed into two pedestrian islands and a bus stop before coming to a stop in the wall of a business at around 11.10pm.

The crash was said to have caused ‘significant damage to six parked vehicles’.

Police say the driver of the BMW was not seriously injured.

The owner of Egerton Cars, Richard Hughes, said that he estimated the cost of the damage to his business's vehicles to be more than £50,000.

Now, police believe the BMW driver was ‘forced off the road’ by a white van, possibly a Vauxhall Vivaro, which failed to stop at the scene.

GMP’s Bolton Response team is appealing for anyone with information to get in touch as the force attempts to trace the white van.

Anyone with relevant information or footage, such as mobile, CCTV, or dashcam, is asked to get in contact with the force.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 3422 of 26/08/24, the force said.
