An Ofsted rated secondary school is to hold its annual open evening on September 19.

Rivington and Blackrod High School is invited parents and prospective pupils to meet the current young people and staff as well as have a tour of the facilities.

There will also be fun interactive learning activities for young visitor to try their hands at, as well as student led tours.

The headteacher will give a talk at 5.30pm and 6pm.

Rivington and Blackrod High School is graded good in all areas following a recent Ofsted inspection.

Ofsted inspectors described the school as 'warm and welcoming' where pupils 'feel safe and well supported'.

Inspectors reported: "Pupils respond well to the high expectations that leaders have of their behaviour and achievement.

"They treat each other with dignity and respect."
