Often, finding a new walk can take a bit of time but we’ve rounded up some of Lancashire’s best walking routes, according to locals.
Responding to our Facebook post asking them where their favourite walks are in the county, locals shared some walking inspiration.
Best walks in Lancashire according to locals
Our readers recommended a wide variety of walks across Lancashire including routes near several reservoirs and coastal spots.
However, Pendle Hill, Pendle sculpture trail and Pendle itself were the most popular suggestions.
One local shared their memories of Pendle Hill, writing: “Pendle hill a Longtime ago 1950 with my Dad will always remember xx”.

Others simply named Pendle Hill and Pendle sculpture trail in their comments.
Another popular place that Lancashire locals enjoy walking is along the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
One said: “Along the Leeds & Liverpool canal from Feniscowles to Riley Green”.

Church near Accrington was also a popular spot mentioned for a walk near the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
Some locals also comically shared that their favourite walk is going “to the pub”.
Reservoirs which were included in the comments section of our Facebook post include Ogden Clough Reservoir in Barley, Belmont Reservoir, Roddlesworth Reservoirs and more.
