A popular pub and restaurant is back with a “brighter, more spacious look” after a month-long refurbishment in Radcliffe.
Ainsworth Arms, a Toby Carvery, has re-opened with “cosier, more modernised” feel and increased accessibility after being shuttered for four weeks since late July.
Jennifer Harrison, the general manager, said: “It was a long time to be closed, but a renovation is long overdue.
“[The restaurant] has a warmer look now.”
And it has increased accessibility for people with mobility issues.
Jennifer said: “We added a new ramp in the front of the building and took down a few walls in the inside [rooms] to make it easier for people to get around.
“It has a more open plan.”
Jennifer said: “I think seven years ago it had a lick of paint and that’s it, so a renovation has been a long time coming.
“Over £600,000 has been spent on it. It's had a lot of work put into it.”
Emma Meeks, shift supervisor, said: “The renovation is beautiful and definitely more spacious.
“The booths we’ve got in place are great.
“Having a wall near the carvery deck and extra taps on the bar has been really good.”
And guests are loving it.
Emma said: “More customers than usual have come in.
"A lot of people have been surprised at how much we’ve changed and are very excited to come back.
“Many say it’s brighter and more open now whereas before it felt more outdated and not as welcoming.
“It makes us smile, which is always a bonus.
“We want people to feel at home and to take the pressure off them cooking at home.
“We want to be the best Toby Carvery in the North West.”
