An automotive repair business is celebrating its eighth anniversary and rapid growth.
DA Techs, co-founded in 2016 by Jamie Baxter and Phil Bernard, has expanded from a modest single-spaced unit to now occupying five full units in Adlington.
The vision of Mr Baxter and Mr Bernard has transformed a once small-scale operation into an enterprise managing more than 55 staff and refurbishing more than 55,000 alloy wheels a year.
At the start of the business, Mr Baxter and Mr Bernard originally honed a singular mobile van, featuring everything from a diamond-cutting lathe to heat lamps.
Mr Baxter said: "I never thought in just eight years me and Phil would let alone be managing a fleet of these vans, but in a position where we constantly need more."
Innovation has been central to the duo’s success.
The idea of speedy alloy wheel refurbishment materialised into the conglomerate of a mobile fleet, a car bodyshop, and mini pods with adept staff for a range of repairs.
Mr Bernard said: "Eight years ago we were cutting 2,500 alloys, now we’re at 55,000 annually, so the sky is really the limit."
DA Techs’ aspiration to change the repair industry and provide premier service for locals hasn't wavered in the journey.
Exclusive partnerships with firms such as US company Micro Lenco have enabled the business to offer services inaccessible elsewhere.
Mr Baxter said: "Our success hasn’t come without challenges - Covid was monumental but it sharpened our focus to grow.
"Partnerships like Micro Lenco and ST Accident Repair Centre’s Kitemark accreditation really tell you the Techs group does not have an upper limit on expansion and quality.
"We’re proud that growth is good for the business, but also great for the community as well."
Currently, DA Techs is overseeing the refurbishment of 220-plus wheels a day, aiming to provide dealerships with enormous time savings, notably those with an optimum selling window of 35 days for used cars, with the lathe saving an extra two-day turnaround time.
