Traders have hailed the Bolton Food and Drink Festival as a success after it recovered from a setback on the first day.
People were disappointed on Friday when bad wind meant the event was unable to get started as usual.
But the town was buzzing for the next three days and traders hailed the nineteenth outing of the festival as a success.
One person whose business was introduced to lots of new people was Dasha Krasiuk.
She runs Vegan Infinity and last year she gave a sample of her food to renowned chef James Martin.
And he was so impressed with what he had eaten that he got her onto his TV show which was recorded just eight weeks later.
This year she returned to the food and drink festival and the chef gave her a shout out while he was doing his demo inside the town hall.
After hearing the word of how good it was people went out and went to get some food from the stall.
Dasha said: “Every hour we have had a massive line of people who have heard about us from him.
“It has been the best festival yet.
“We don’t do a lot of markets but we always do the Bolton festival.
“We have had people who are not vegan and who do not have allergies and are not plant based coming to see us and that is what we want – to show it is suitable for everyone.”
Another trader who had a successful time was Tom Drew from Worcester whose burger stall Roly Poly Eats was a massive hit.
He said: “It was a disappointment on Friday but we have made up for it, there have been lots of people here.
“We are based in Worcester but have been coming here for 10 years and we will be back again.”
A Bolton-based outlet that had success at the festival was Franca’s Takeaway.
The Italian is based on St George’s Road in the town centre but this weekend sold its pizzas on Newport Road.
Danny McDonagh said: “It has been great the last few days.
“It was a bit of a disappointment on Friday but it has been all good since.
“All of the pizzas and the sauces we well have been popular.”
