Day one of Bolton Food and Drink Festival served up a treat for all ages as thousands flocked to the town centre to enjoy one of the UK's best events.
This year Storm Lilian delayed the start of the four day festival after high winds damaged stalls.
But Saturday's turnout more than made up for the late start, and there was a distinct carnival atmosphere with street entertainment, live music, dancing the outdoor bars and fun for all the family in Bolton's new town centre park.
Ainsley Harriott delighted visitors with three demonstrations, while foodies could enjoy demonstrations from regional chefs - something which will continue throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, as well as the 200 plus renowned artisan stalls scattered throughout the town centre offering tastes from all around the world as well as a range of arts, crafts and gifts for the whole family, highlight will be the new Mayor’s Prosecco Picnic Platter featuring famous faces.

The Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Nick Peel, said:
“Everyone worked flat out to clean up the debris from Storm Lilian and make sure the site was safe to open today.
“As disappointed as we were to postpone the festival, the storm has shown Bolton’s resilient spirit at its very best.
“The market stall holders have been fantastic, they have kept a positive attitude and have enjoyed a busy day of trading today.
“The whole community has really pulled together, and the best way people can help now is to come out in force in support of our local producers, artists and performers for the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend.”
