Bella's Bakes is making a return to the Bolton Food and Drink Festival to serve up some sweet treats.

The reputation of the bakers is rising fast, with their stall set to be a huge attraction at this year's event - which will open at 2pm today (Friday).

Isabella Riding, 21, set up Bella’s Bakes in 2017 at just 14-years-old, and she joined forces with her mum Natalie in 2021.

The duo, whose mouth-watering baked goods have racked up over three thousand social media followers, will have their own pop-up stall.

Natalie said: “We’re feeling excited but nervous, last year we took over four hundred cakes to the festival and we’d sold out of everything by 2pm.

“We’ll be selling lots of goodies at the pop-up, including brownies, blondies, cookies, cookie pies and our best seller, the lemon drizzle cake.

“There’s even a limited-edition flavoured raspberry and amaretto blondie.

“We also will be selling brownie and blondie bites, which buyers can customize with an array of biscuit toppings and sauces.

“We’ll also have a kid’s counter at the stall which we want to make pocket-money friendly, so the bakes are just one pound. We want to make sure people of all ages get to enjoy our bakes!

“It’s also Bella’s birthday on the Friday so we will be playing games like pass the parcel and getting people involved.”

Bella’s Bakes will also be raising money for a local charity, Be More Ted, at the festival by selling tickets for a lucky dip.

Be More Ted was set up in honour of Ted Waring, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just seven months old, which meant several hospital operations and chemotherapy.

Inspirational Ted, who ‘loved to make people feel better’, died at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in March last year aged just seven after battling a brain tumour.

The charity has been set up in his name as a tribute to the 'angel' to ensure that his positive legacy will live on and earlier this year installed eleven ‘Buddi’ benches around Bolton offering a special place for someone to sit if they need to talk and are looking for a friend.

Natalie said: “Ted’s mum set up the charity in his name and the Buddi benches, which are after Ted’s middle name, are in schools and parks to be used by those who are struggling.

“It’s amazing what she’s done, and we feel honoured to be able to support this cause, so many people know about Ted so it’s something that is really close to home.”

Tickets for the lucky dip will cost £2 each from the pop-up and multiple winners will be announced.

Natalie said: “There’s so many prizes, from our party package prize, beauty vouchers, a teepee from happily ever after teepees, which is a local business.

“There’s donations from bluebells pottery, even a local pilot has donated a free plane ride to one lucky winner.”

“The local businesses have been very generous and donated so much, there’s lots of prizes to be won”
