Pupils and staff at St James’s High School, Farnworth, celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results this year.
After a long summer they congregated in the school hall, ready to start the next stage of their educational journeys today on GCSE Results Day.
The hall was buzzing with activity as pupils came in to find out how they did in their exams.
Anabel Ichella of St James got four 8s, three 9s and three 7s.
She said: "I feel quite surprised, but I am happy with them.
"I was expecting 6s, particularly in English language as I always got 6s in the mocks."
Anabel will study biology, chemistry and maths A-levels at Bolton Sixth Form, and is looking to do medicine in further education.
Aleem Otusanya at St James CE High School got mostly 8s and 7s.
He said: "I am feeling good, I'm happy with my results.
"I am going to go to Runshaw College to do biology, chemistry and maths.
"I found my exams pretty good to be fair, I wasn't too stressed or anything."
Headteacher Catherine Anderson shared her pride, stating: “We are all incredibly proud of our students at St James’s. They have achieved excellent results, reflecting their dedication, focus, and commitment to their studies over the past five years.”
She added, "We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in our school community. First, to our staff, whose hard work has ensured our students were thoroughly prepared and supported throughout their educational journey. And secondly, to our families, whose crucial support has empowered our students to succeed and reach their full potential."
"We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 11 students and are thrilled to see them rewarded with grades that reflect their hard work. These results will allow them to step confidently into the next phase of their education. We wish them every success in the future!"
