The Bolton Cancer Voices is seeking new choir members ahead of its first Christmas concert since 2019.

The choir is one of the few dedicated music groups in the country for people living with or recovering from cancer.

Flexible membership is open to anyone aged 18 and older who has received a cancer diagnosis, with no geographical restrictions, provided they can travel to Bolton for rehearsals.

The members receive no charges, require no audition, and don't need music-reading skills to participate.

Karen Elliott, founder and chair of the choir, said: "Singing in a choir is such an uplifting, joyous and indeed therapeutic thing to do.

"Whatever stage you are at in your cancer journey or beyond, we’d really love to have you with us.

"We are brought together by cancer and we provide an environment where people can connect with others who are going through or have been through a similar experience - but like other community choirs, what unites us is our love of music; the joy of singing; learning something new; sharing great choral experiences; having fun and entertaining others.

"This is the perfect time to get involved."
