Emergency services were called out to reports of a “gas leak” right in the heart of Bolton town centre.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were all called to Corporation Street at around 10.30am today, Sunday.
An area was taped off and Cadent Gas engineers were also called to deal with the incident, which was dealt with after just over an hour.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10.30am this morning, Sunday August 18, three fire engines from Bolton North and Farnworth fire stations were called to reports of a gas leak on Corporation Street, Bolton.
“Crews arrived quickly and used a gas detector to assess the scene.
“They worked closely with Cadent Gas and North West Ambulance Service to make the area safe before departing after approximately one hour and 10 minutes.”
