A motorbike believed to have been stolen was found hidden in “dense woodland.”

Police say the bike was found in the woodland area near Settle Street in Great Lever on Wednesday August 14 after it had been reported to have been abandoned.

Officers say that the believe the bike had been stolen from its rightful owner’s home overnight and they are now working to trace the people responsible for taking it.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “On Wednesday August 14 officers from the Rumworth and Hulton Neighbourhood Policing Team alongside colleagues from our Neighbourhood Crime Team responded to reports of an abandoned motorcycle.

“Working together with the community and the owner of the bike, officers located it concealed in some dense woodland near to Settle Street, Great Lever.

“It's believed the motorbike had been stolen from the owner's property overnight.

“The bike has been recovered and forensic work will now be completed to help with enquiries to locate those responsible for the theft.”

Police have released an image of the blue Yamaha motorbike in the woodlands area.
