A new pizza restaurant in Manchester city centre is set to give away 10,000 free pizzas.

Detroit Slims will open in Oxford Road's Circle Square this autumn, serving quick-service Detroit-style pizzas.

The restaurant is the latest venture from the team behind popular Manchester venues Ramona, Diecast, and The Firehouse.

The new concept offers a "game changing approach" to Detroit-style pizza, with 10-inch long rectangular pizzas priced from £5.

Each pizza will be individually sized and baked fresh to order, with toppings including the Cheese Burger Slim, BBQ Meat Feast, and the signature Pepperoni Crown.

To celebrate the opening, Detroit Slims will give away 10,000 free pizzas to the first customers who sign up for the Detroit Slims newsletters at https://detroitslims.com/.

These customers will receive a unique code for their free pizza during the first few weeks of opening.

Dan Mullen, director at Detroit Slims, said: "Detroit Slims has been in the works for a while now and we are so excited to finally introduce this new concept.

"We’re so excited to finally introduce the Slims brand to our home city of Manchester, and eventually bring Detroit-style pizza to everyone UK-wide."

The new restaurant will create more than 25 jobs and has a 30-cover eat-in area.

Customers will also be able to order on Deliveroo.

Will Taplin, executive chef for Detroit Slims, said: "All Detroit Slims pizzas will be completely homemade, made up of proper ingredients - making for high-quality fast food that will leave you feeling good.

"There is nothing like Detroit Slims in the UK, and we’re ready to introduce ourselves with some proper American hospitality."

The team also plans to open another Detroit Slims location in Greater Manchester by the end of the year.
