Police have released images of a group of men they want to speak to as part of their investigation into an “outbreak of disorder” in Bolton.
The disorder gripped Bolton on Sunday, August 4 after riot police were called to the town centre to keep groups of demonstrators and counter demonstrators apart.
Tense stand-off developed around Victoria Square and Bradshawgate and police have now since been investigating the unrest.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating an outbreak of disorder which took place in Bolton town centre on Sunday, August 4 2024 and are seeking to identify the following people as part of our investigation.”
Officers have released CCTV images of various people, some of them in masks, they say they want to speak to.

Police with riot gear, on horseback and with dogs were all sent to Bolton town centre on Sunday August 4 to deal with the disorder that went on into Sunday afternoon and early evening.

A day before unrest had hit central Manchester around the Piccadilly Gardens area.
Officers have appealed for anyone who recognises the people in the images to get in touch with them by calling 101 quoting Operation Underbarrow.
