Bolton Mountain and Rescue Team helped bring a man to safety in a local beauty spot after suffering a suspected fractured ankle.
Team members were alerted just before 2pm on Sunday, when they were called to assist Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team at an incident at Stubbins, near Ramsbottom.
Team vehicles went to Buckden Woods.
The two mountain rescue teams worked together to assist the ambulance crew with a short carry out of the woods to the nearby ambulance.
A spokesman for Bolton Mountain Rescue Team said "Fortunately things worked out quite well as owing to our attendance on this incident, the remainder of the Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team members were available to attend another incident going on in their patch at the same time.
"Just as we had finished carrying the patient to the ambulance, at 14:55 another call came in to our team from NWAS who were requesting our assistance to access another casualty in a medical emergency at Rivington Terraced Gardens. Fortunately the NWAS ambulance was able to access the patient without our assistance and so we stood down whilst en route."
