A cyclist in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a crash with a car.
Police were called to Rivington Road near to Belmont at 3.47pm, August 11, where a Volkswagen Lupo and the cyclist collided.
The cyclist has been taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment and reportedly suffered a broken wrist and burn injuries.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.47pm today to a report of a road traffic collision on Belmont Road, Horwich.
"Its reported that a black VW Lupo has collided with a cyclist, who suffered a broken wrist and burn injuries as a result.
"The cyclist, a man in his 20’s, was taken to Salford Royal for treatment.
"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dashcam footage that could help our enquiries is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 0823 of August 11."
The black Volkswagen Lupo could be seen on scene with a dented bonnet and a caved-in windscreen.
Rivington Road was closed off from the Black Dog pub in Belmont up to its summit, preventing traffic from getting in between the village and Rivington.
Police and paramedics could be seen on the road, with a damaged bicycle being seen put into the back of a car.

The cordon at the Black Dog has now been lifted.
An eyewitness said: "Four cars from Lancashire Police and an ambulance are in attendance.
"A damaged bicycle was seen being loaded into the back of a car, it had a damaged rear wheel.
"The road is closed near to the summit of Rivington Road and closed at the Black Dog pub in Belmont.
"There is no indication of how long it will be before the road opens."
