Emergency services were called to rescue a man in the River Irwell.
Police were called to Blackburn St near Pilkington Way in Radcliffe after a “concern for welfare” call just before midnight yesterday.
Two fire engines were called, and the Bolton News understands they rescued the man from the water.
Firefighters from Bury and Whitefield fire stations were in attendance. Police remained for an hour.
It is understood the man was taken to hospital with no serious injuries.
