Beloved Boltonian TV presenter and DJ Vernon Kay is set to bring a sparkle to The National Lottery's Team GB Homecoming event featuring iconic UK artists.

Held at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday 17 August, the event celebrates the return of Team GB and Paralympics GB athletes from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Kay, alongside Emma Willis, will give insights into the lives of our Olympic stars through interviews and appearances by athletes both legendary and up-and-coming.

The extravaganza, also featuring performances from Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, Pete Tong and Rag'n'Bone Man, will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer the following day.

Vernon said: "I have seen first-hand how amazingly dedicated and talented our athletes are and the difference the support of National Lottery players makes to their ability to be the best they can be.

"The National Lottery’s Team GB Homecoming event will be a moment to recognise the achievements of the athletes, and thank National Lottery players who have helped them on their journey to Paris.

"I can’t wait to celebrate together!"

Another celebration by The National Lottery, the Paralympics GB Homecoming, will be held at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham on Thursday, September 12.

The athletes' jubilant return home is a show of gratitude to National Lottery players, whose support plays a crucial part in our athletes' successes.

Since elite sport started receiving National Lottery funding in 1997, Team GB has always placed in the top ten of the medal table.

Their efforts resulted in a spectacular fourth-place finish and 22 gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

The upcoming events intend to encapsulate the magic of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
