Five men have been charged in connection with the disorder across Bolton and Manchester over the last weekend.

Four of the men, one of them from Farnworth, have been charged with violent disorder while another, from Whitefield, has been charged with criminal damage.

This follows heated scenes that swept across Manchester on Saturday August 3 and Bolton on Sunday August 4 as riot police kept far-right demonstrators and counter-demonstrators apart.

Steven Miller, 38, of Farnworth, has been charged with violent disorder.

He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 August 2024.

Oliver Chapman, 23 of Connaught Avenue, Whitefield, has been charged with criminal damage.

He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday August 8 2024.

Marcus Foster, 24 of Oswald Road, Chorlton has been charged with violent disorder.

He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 August 8 2024.

Paul Smith, 21, of Keynsham Road, Manchester, has been charged with violent disorder.

He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday August 8 2024.

Joseph Ley, 30, of Hardman Street, Stockport, has been charged with violent disorder.

He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday August 8 2024.
