An empty space at Bolton’s Market Place shopping centre is set to be revived.
This will be when The Works moves from its current store at Crompton Place Shopping Centre into a “larger” space in Market Place Shopping Centre that was left empty on the ground floor when Flannels closed.
The fashion retailer closed towards the end of January with the space having been empty since then.
A Works spokesperson said: “We love being a part of the Bolton community and are excited to be moving to a larger store at the Market Place Shopping Centre!
“This is a fantastic location for The Works in the heart of Bolton and will provide our customers with easy access facilities such as onsite parking.
“From our new store we’ll continue to provide customers with the same excellent value, as well as a much bigger range of products for reading, learning, creating and playing.
“We can’t wait to welcome both new and existing customers from Bolton and the surrounding areas through the doors of our newest store this summer!”
The Bolton store is one of more than 500 that The Works runs across the UK and Ireland.
The company specialises in books, arts, crafts, hobbies, stationary, toys and games
The gifts, arts and books retailer say that the new store will give them 2,195 square feet to trade across and is found right near the entrance to the Market Place, next to the Hotel Chocolat.
The old Works branch will at the same shopping centre will close as part of the move, with “everything must go signs” already up in the windows.

Its new larger home has been occupied by several different stores in recent years with fashion retailer Tessuti having closed in 2023.
Flannels, owned by the Fraser Group, moved into its place that summer, opening in August 25, before it too announced the following December that it would be closing.
The Works is expected to open its new store on August 22 this year with the current branch set to close on August 28.
The company says the current staff will be moved over to the new store.
Crompton Place Shopping Centre is set to be demolished, subject to planning permission, as part of the regeneration plans for Bolton town centre.
