A new bar is set to open in a growing food and drink destination.
Sparrows Rum is set to open on Winter Hey Lane, where Wright Costume was previously based.
Managers are currently awaiting the result of a licensing application.
Wanda Wright, the owner of the costume shop, is behind new rum bar.
Wanda said: "It is going to be a rum bar, we are going to open with at least 50 different rums.
"It is something me and my husband have talked about doing for a long time, we thought why not?
"I had owned the shop for eight years, but Covid killed it off and afterwards it didn't pick up, so we thought we would switch it around.
"We like our rum, I think it is the next big thing after gin. Rum bars seem to be popping up in the bigger cities and towns."
She added: "I think this will be the first one in Greater Manchester outside of Manchester.

"We hope it will be popular with the rum drinkers, but we are also going to be doing two craft ales, those will change regularly and will be from local suppliers, as well as lagers, good wines and everything else you'd find.
"It will be an old-worldy, cosy atmosphere we are trying to create. It will be somewhere where you can have a chat, not with loud banging music, although we will have music at a lower volume.
"We will have nice lighting, it is going to be a very relaxed, chilled atmosphere. At the moment we are waiting on the premises license."
Wanda is hoping to open the bar towards the end of August, as long as the license comes through.
She said she plans to serve food as well, such as cheese boards, ploughman's lunches and sharing platters.
This will add to the range of unique shops, cafes, bars and pubs in the town.
Wanda added: "There are a lot of nice artisan little shops popping up at the moment which might bring a lot of people in.
"It is a quaint little village centre."
