Police were called to Bolton town hall after reports a man was acting aggressively in the One Stop Shop.

Officers were called just before 10.30am and arrested a man on suspicion of common assault.

Officers spoke to people inside the town hall, with the One Stop Shop having to temporarily shut. It is now open.

A spokesperson for Bolton Council said: “Police were called following an incident involving a member of the public in the One Stop Shop.

“The matter has now been resolved and we would like to thank the police for their quick response.” 

An eyewitness said the doors to the One Stop Shop were closed for the "safety of the public". 

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to reports of a man acting aggressively in a shop on Victoria Square in Bolton.

"An 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault."

The One Stop Shop  is for taxpayers to access council and other services directly in a central location.

Residents visit the one stop shop for a variety of reasons ranging from a quick query about bins to serious issues such as social care.
