The life and times of Ancient Egypt’s most famous Pharaoh will be explored at Bolton Museum this month.
Ian Trumble, curator of Egyptology will be leading a free tour of Bolton Museum’s acclaimed Egyptian collection.
The tour will explore King Tutankhamun’s family life and take place on August 13.
There will be two ‘Tutankhamun and his family’ tours taking place at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, meeting at the museum gift shop. There is no need to book a ticket.
King Tutankhamun who famously ruled Egypt in the 14th century BC died at about 18 and ended his family line.
Bolton Museum visitors can enjoy this special tour of the best Egyptian collection of any local authority.
The museum boasts five distinct rooms with 12,000 artefacts.
One room has a full-size replica of the tomb of Pharoah Tuthmose III who ruled between 1479 and 1425 BC made with 3D laser scanning.
The gallery was remodeled eight years ago with a £3.8 million redevelopment fund from the council.
