For many people, there is no better way to start the weekend than with a parkrun on a Saturday.
Parkrun has taken the world by storm in the years since it was founded in 2004, with more than 2,300 locations in 22 countries.
Volunteers and participants meet up at green spaces around the world and take part in 5k walks, jogs and runs.
We have broken down the Parkruns in and around Bolton for those of you keen to get your running shoes on.
Bolton - Leverhulme Park
Starting with the only full 5k in the borough, this run starts from the cricket pitches in Leverhulme Park, taking participants on a route around the sizable park.

Bolton - Queen's Park, junior
A 2k event for children from 4-14 years old is also held every Sunday at 9am.

Leigh - Pennington Flash
Starting at 9am every Saturday, this run takes in the picturesque lake of Pennington Flash in Leigh.
Its start point is near Ramsdale Hide before taking runners right near to the water. For more information, visit: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/penningtonflash/course/
Worsley Woods
This event starts near the trendy neighbourhood of Monton, running along the Roe Green Loopline before circling Worsley Woods and returning to its start point.

Bury - Clarence Park
This parkrun starts from The Green Community Cafe by the bowling club, zigzagging around the park before returning.
