A popular Bolton pub is bringing its famous beer festival back to Smithills Estate after nearly three years.
Northern Monkey Brew Co and bar will hold its well-known ‘Monkey in the Woods’ beer festival on Saturday September 14. It will be in Smithills’ Woodland Trust car park off Barrow Bridge Road.
Twelve of Northern Monkey’s popular beers and cask ales will be on offer plus some special guest beers.
Thirty per cent of all proceeds will go to the Woodland Trust to maintain Smithills Estate.
Local acts like Luke McColl and the Fallen 4 are set to perform. And hungry punters can look forward to wood-fired pizza from Smoke, Meat and Fire and Cugini’s and barbecue.
Northern Monkey co-owner Liam Convey, 38, said: “We put on the last [Monkey in the Woods] festival in 2021, it got rescheduled a few times because of coronavirus.
“We do quite a few festivals. We recently had one at Smithills Hall which went really well, so I think there’s enough time from that one for people to be up for it.
“It will be a different vibe, a bit more autumnal, especially in the evening. All the trees will be lit up.
“There will be a stage with music and street food, lots of different beers and a good feel”.
Festival goers with receive a free festival glass and 'Monkey In The Woods' Programme.
This is a limited capacity event.
