Bolton based arts and heritage organisation, Live from Worktown has announce the return of Worktown Words, the bi-monthly online creative writing anthology curated from submissions by writers in and around Bolton.
Live from Worktown says it is pleased that Romina Ramos, co-organiser of Natter, has agreed to pick up the production of the on-line e-magazine Worktown Words.
“We have been contacted by so many local writers who were missing it. We can't wait to see the first edition and are sure that magazine founder, the late Paul Blackburn would have been delighted with this relaunch” co-founder Dave Morgan.
Romina said she aims to “keep things running as they were to the best of my knowledge, obviously I didn’t get to sit and chat with Paul and have a handover so this issue was a learning curve, but we’re getting there and I’m really happy with this issue”.
Reverting back to its original name, the first new Worktown Words in the theme of Tribute was guest edited by Ajaz Qureshi, an accomplished poet who has just released his own collection of words, Full Nelson. Here’s what AJ had to say about the words in this issue “In this little worktown, your words are worth the work”.
July’s Tribute edition will be available to read online now via the Live from Worktown website: https://livefromworktown.org.uk/
Submissions for the next issue will open on the August, 1 2024 and close midnight 26th August 2024.
Guest editor and theme will be announced on submissions opening date.
