A site manager is receiving recognition as one of the best in the business for his work at a borough site.

Danny McCarron received a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council.

Mr McCarron, from Sale, Trafford, is the site manager of Bellway's Barton Quarter development, a development of more than 200 homes at what was Horwich Loco Works.

He is one of around 400 site managers across the UK to receive the Pride in the Job Quality Award and to qualify for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards as a result.

It is the sixth time he is receiving recognition with one of these awards.

Mr McCarron said: "I am proud of my team and all our efforts on site.

"Winning the Pride in the Job Quality Award is fantastic and an excellent reflection of all involved."

Thomas Chadwick, construction director for Bellway Manchester, said: “The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are held in high regard as everyone in the industry knows how hard it is to win this accolade.

"The judging is rigorous which means winning this accolade is testament to the quality of the homes being built at Barton Quarter.

"I would like to congratulate Danny and every member of the site team for their achievement and I wish them all the best for the next stage of the competition in the autumn."

The NHBC's Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards are in the autumn.
