This week we have chosen to focus on The Courthouse on Mawdsley Street in the centre of Bolton.
The building used to be a court, hence the name, and also an office of the Department of Work and Pensions.

How long have you been a landlord for?
Six years.
What is the best thing about being a landlord?
Probably the customers, the satisfaction of seeing people enjoying themselves, it is quite rewarding.
What is the most challenging thing?
Dealing with the world of today, after Covid, it is all the bills, everything has gone up. Dealing with the admin is probably the most challenging thing.
What is your most popular drink?
Pornstar Martini, it is a cocktail.
Do you do food?
Yes.
What is popular?
Probably out small parts pizzas.
We also have two for one deal where you can get some pizzas, burgers or chips.
Do you have a beer garden?
No, but we have some outdoor seating.
Can you tell us about the history of the pub?
It was a court before hence the name.
It was also a DWP office where people signed on.
It has also been Henrys after it was a court house and it was the Harvey Café and Bar after that.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
We have a traders day on Friday and Saturday where drinks go up and down in price according to demand.
You can get a Cruzcampo or an Amstel for as low as £3.
We are also introducing out own Courthouse lager which could go as low as £2.
