A closed down café in the heart of Bolton will soon be revived with a new “wildlife” theme.
The Queens Park café closed towards the end of February this year sparking widespread disappointment from regular park goers.
But this weekend the café will be reopened again by the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and Merseyside for a trial run this Saturday, ahead of a full reopening next week.
Trust head of commercial Edward Bailey said: “We are delighted to be re-opening the wonderful café in Queens Park, creating a welcoming space where all members of the community can come together and enjoy a bite and a brew whilst getting out and enjoying this amazing green space.
“And what’s more, all profits will go straight to the Wildlife Trust to help support the fantastic, but threatened, wildlife on our doorsteps.
“We will shortly be advertising for lots of staff and volunteer roles right across the café and the park itself, so that we can provide both employment and opportunities for people to give something back too.
“We cannot wait to welcome the wonderful people of Bolton in through the doors.”
The café had previously been run by Deep Beat Entertainment Ltd, having first opened in 2017 after £20,000 building refurbishment works
It was a popular destination for Queens Park visitors before being forced to close in February when the company went into administration.
But the Wildlife Trust say that the newly revived café will cater for all diets and tastes, including with Halal options, and will act as a hub for community events.
The Wildlife Trust says that once the café is up and running it will be organising a range of nature themed events, some of them run by their own education team.
The trust already runs the café at Moss Bank Park and hoped that running the facility at Queens Park will prove just as successful.

They also hope that they will funding for the café to be used as hub for nature and wellbeing sessions.
These sessions will be intended to work with people to improve their mental health and wellbeing through access to nature.
The café in Queens Park will also have an events space which will be available for private hire right from its full reopening.
The Queens Park Café will reopen for a trial run on Saturday July 20 ahead of a planned full reopening on Friday July 26.
